Abstract

Apakah kemudian siklus diulang? Bagaimanakah pelaksanaannya? Apakah dibutuhkan sekutu yakni orang-orang penting pendukung kegiatan?

Abstract

It is a common practice that university does community service by serving the community without any effort to sustain the activities. We come doing the service without involving the community in the preparation as well as the process during the service. The community is just receiving our activities. It is also common that what we give is not the needs of the community but our own needs to do the social service. The question then, how the proper approach must be done that the activities are the needs of
the community? Is it necessary to do action research? The community is involved since the beginning to decide their needs in our preliminary assessment. Actions will be done according to the findings from the needs assessment. After the actions, together with the community we do the evaluation of the actions done. We then find another problem to be solved and another needs to be fulfilled together with the community. The cycle, then, to be repeated. How is the process of the cycle? Do we need alliances from the key persons in the community? Those questions are to be discussed during the seminar. LPPM UKRIDA had done community service multidisciplinary in the community closed by our Campus 2 in 2014-2015. We decided to continually serving the community twice a year in those years in physical and mental health. This paper presents the results of needs assessment and the importance of doing action research is presented during the seminar.
